About the Founder
John Menard is the founder of Trailblaze Bio. He brings to the table 15 years of experience in day-to-day operations, real estate, and lab/office construction for Biotech companies. His most recent role at EQRX included building a 33K SF office in Cambridge that could accommodate daily users, multiple team meetings of 40+, and the ability to manage reception remotely. He also traveled to London and opened another EQRX office in less than two months to meet critical MHRA deadlines. John has worked for several Biotech companies both as a consultant and full time. He previously worked for Foundation Medicine where he designed and built more than 60K SF of lab and office space while managing day-to-day facility operations for a 24hr diagnostics lab. His work in scaling Biotech companies from 10 to 300+ employees give him unique perspective on the needs and challenges that young companies face. When working with any company John’s goal is to develop a growth strategy that avoids large capital expenses, and keeps operations lean with low headcount.
